    We have a new client with DSL 2018 installed on a Laptop with Windows 10 Pro and SQL Standard 2019. We wish to install Management Reporter (MR) onto the system however the instructions state that the workstation needs to be part of a Domain. Is there a way to install so that it will perform on a Single User SL2018 installation without being part of a domain.?

    I'm not sure if this will work for you:

    Can Windows 10 run Active Directory?
    Windows 10 Version 1809 and Higher

    Right-click the Start button and choose "Settings" > "Apps" > "Manage optional features" > "Add feature". Select "RSAT: Active Directory Domain Services and Lightweight Directory Tools". Select "Install", then wait while Windows installs the feature.

    Correct, Management Reporter must be on a domain using Windows network domain users.

    The ability to install the Management Reporter services on a computer that is not domain joined is not possible.
    You will see the following message when attempting to configure the services:


    There seems to be no way around this.

    If the computer is domain joined you can install Management Reporter without the use of a domain account for the services by using the Local System account.

    The Local System account (NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM) would be used when Management Reporter and SQL are on the same machine.

    There are a number of additional steps that are needed to make this work correctly.

    1. "NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM" SQL login will need to have EXEC rights granted to the following stored procedures in the SL system database:
    • Company_Active
    • Get_User_Info
    • getAuthenticationType
    • Get_ReportUser_Info
    • GetInfo

    2. "NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM" SQL login will need to have EXEC rights granted to the following system stored procedure:
    • sp_grantdbaccess
    3. "NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM" will need to have the default schema set to dbo

    4. The "CD8359B5576446f85EB67E824B4770" user will need to be created (this can be done by setting the SL databases to SQL Authentication)

    5. The "CD8359B5576446f85EB67E824B4770" will need EXEC granted to the getAuthenticationType stored procedure in the SL system database.
