    I am trying to prepare for 1099's for year end and I am pretty sure that I will be using the 1099 NEC for the most part.

    Does anyone know about the 1099 NEC and MISC and if we can use both forms in Dynamics?

    I also need to find out if I need 1099 Misc. for medical bills paid directly to the doctor on behalf of an employee for their health benefit reimbursement.  Also do you know if the updates will be done for NEC and MISC 1099's in Dynamics?

    Year End Updates are available for SL versions in mainstream support, which is currently only SL 2018

    Year End updates include: :

     -New 1099 NEC form

     -Updated 1099 MISC form

     -Support for Standard and High Withholding for state deductions

     -Allowing different marital status for state and federal exemption and credits


    Release time frame:  December 2020

    All versions of SL 2018 will have year end updates available.
    Note: SL 2018 CU5 will release at the same time as the year end updates and include the year end updates

    If you are not on Dynamics SL 2018 (where the year-end updates will support the new form), there are several inexpensive programs available that will use exported data from Dynamics SL, some of which will even mail the forms and e-file for you. I just googled these up:

    1099express
    1099pro
    RealBusiness
    CheckMark

    We have used the first (1099express) with Dynamics SL, and it was painless.
