running project allocator after period is closed

We use Flexible Billings and we failed to run Allocator (in the Project Module) prior to closing July so now there are project expesnes from July that are not showing up on the Flexible Billings draft invoices because they were never allocated.  Is there a way to allocate these expenses in Aug since we have already closed July?  Or is there another way to get them to show up in WIP and on our draft invoices?  Thank you so much for your help!

    Hi Corrie,

In Allocation Processor, you can tell it what period you want.  You can also go into Project Controller Setup, change the period, run everything, then change the period back.

Either one of those options should work for you...

    Thanks,
    Michael

Thanks for responding Michael!  I didn't really want to change the period to July because we have already closed the period and submitted financials so it felt like I shouldn't open it back up and mess with that.  How would you make it post to August?  When I try to select Aug as my period when running Allocator, it tells me there are no transactions to allocate.  It only shows transactions if I select Jul as my period (see attachment).  Thanks for your help!

    Hi Corrie,

Depending on the amount, I could easily make the argument to reopen the period because missing revenue....but it would depend on materiality...

What about trying a recalculation where you leave the period to post August but tell it to pull July and August?  I would think you would have some August transactions that could be allocated since it is almost the end of the month...

Let me know if that works for you....

    Thanks,
    Michael

Michael you are a genius!  Doing a re-calculation from Jul-Aug with an Aug per to post worked perfectly :)  The total expenses were under $100 so it didn't feel material enough to re-open July but I totally agree and appreciate the suggestion.  You are the best, thank you again for your help!
